Quote from Crashgate3 :Wow.. after watching that replay, I *need* a clutch pedal...

Is there anywhere that sells 3-pedal sets on their own, without the wheel? I already have a DFP, and aren't that bothered about an H-shifter so I don't really want to buy an entire G25 set.

You might try getting an extra pedal set (I use Formula GP's one) and use it, AFAIK that wheel will cost about 10 pounds...

Quote from (SaM) :With the new patch, it's gonna smell REALLY goofy.

I need to get rid of clogged nose as soon as possible or I'll burn the clutch at the start of the race

I used to have some mean jokes over cars in LFS by putting it straight into last gear, flooring the gas and then acting with Clutch as if I'm a Variator gearbox was fun, but I wonder how much time I'll be able to do it with new patch

Quote from tinvek :not sure if its been mentioned already and ive missed it but the bf1 in real life is able to upshift without using the clutch or lifting off the throttle, it would be a pity if this has been lost

BF1's gearbox is complelty diffirent from "other's" and will not loose it simply because its the way it works IRL

UF1 won't stall unless you do something stupid IMO, even with some long gears set, when you start off, wheels spin a bit while RPMs go down to about 3-4k and then you are continuing accelerating finely.

Quote from mrodgers :Cool! I'd love to use my extra pedal set, but the spacing is just so weird that it is horrible to use. That and it just doens't feel right with using an axis deflection for braking that I'd just rather use autoclutch than try to use 3 pedals.

Its extremly fun! But Its quite useless in big GTRs (atleast I didn't managed to shigt down as fast as I need to...yet) but in road cars its even effective (for me atleast, I'm a bit faster in RB4 at some tracks)

Here is the way my pedal's set look like :

phone capture, so the quality is poor, but you can see the main part BTW that small white box in right upper corner is the Formula GP wheel

Quote from nickisthebest :(infact dont even have a virus protecter atm.)

That was the problem for me. I was getting disconnects every 5-10 mins, sometimes couldn't connect to the Master server.... I've blamed my Provider...But the real reason were 328 viruses and spywares on my PC After that it all become fine.

I used AVG, its free, try it.

well, I just ressurected that half alive pedal set(allthough the range of the axis is still 10-50%, but thanks to LFS to be able to set it correctly) , and...learnt heel-toe! Was way easier than I thought! Allthough I use it only in road cars, its a fantastic feeling to control every single movement of the car.

The way I learnt it was a bit diffirent tho. To start of I 've just spent about 2 mins repeating the movements with my legs while the car was standing still. Then I grabbed RB4, went on AS National and in 4 laps I've started doing quite accurate rev matches Feels great!

Quote from agm_ultimatex :I forget, how is a burnout done? (Manual transmission, no auto clutch).

Well it can be hard without auto Clutch cause you have too keep the car in Neutral while holding the gas to raise turbo pressure, then you need to hold brakes while still holding Gas, switch into 1st and drop the clutch. With auto clutch its just Gas+Brake

Not all cars can do it without moving forward, XRR and XRT can do it with most of sets, not with drag sets though, because drag sets usually have very low rear tyres pressure and high fronts.

Quote from niall09 :Its possible, but you would get a fault start id say

depends from the car and a set, I'd say. I was curious about it some time ago, I used XRR at AS3 start and I managed to do burnout without getting a false start, allthough the time you have on the start for raising turbo pressure and the burnout itself is very limited. And I didn't really noticed any positive effect of what I've done either

One little thing lurking in the back of my mind... If I remember correctly at the time of the introduction of the ballast / handicap system plan was to use it as a temporary balancing until next incompatible (physics) patch. Quid es? Anybody risking a guess regarding this controversial topic?

That interests me too

I assume you are talking about XR_interior1.dds file right? Then you just put it in LFS\data\dds just make sure you've backed up the original files.

Quote from ultrataco :I sometimes go to the autox course or a track with a long straight and just practice heel-toe braking.
Maybe try starting with slower, more gentle braking and work your way up to full threshold braking.

Also you can try driving in a straight line at a constant speed and then try to down-shift without changing speed or upsetting the car. That's more of a rev matching exercise than heel-toe, but it might help.

Thanks for tips

Unfortunatly...My second pedal set(from Formula GP) was hardly working(working range of axis was 0% till 50%) finally gave up. Well, I'm gonna use your tips when I'll get G25

A bit off-topic but I've recently started using Clutch pedal (again) but I'm not that good with Heel-toe at the moment so the option is on, however it doesn't seem to match revs very good. I want to do it all by myself. Maybe there are some exercises to learn heel-toeing you can suggest? thanks
